I'm designing a project I try and find a way to create a new, interesting focal point. It's just a personal challenge of mine.
I make loads of cards. About 30 different cards each month. Challenging myself is fun and keeps things fresh for me.
This stamp set "Love is Kindness" is beautiful but because of the size of the image I struggled with what else I could do without overpowering my card. This is my result.
I turned the corner up of the Typeset Designer Paper.
I hope you agree with me, that this small addition doesn't take away from the overall card and sentiment.
The Typeset Designer Paper feels like old book pages and the vintage appearance coordinates with the newspaper wrapping of the tulips.
But, let's talk about that turned up corner. Instead of mounting the designer paper I turned up the edge, mounted a Dimensional on the under-side. I added a Neutral Collection button and White Jute Ribbon which I shredded to get threads.
The next time you're working on a card layout, consider the "turn up".
Lisa, I really like the newsprint with the tulips and red trim – the card really pops. The cute addition of the turned up edge and embellishment turns a cute card to a designer card – with added flair. Thanks for sharing this.
Hi Sue! I’m so glad you like it! I love red so anything in that color family makes me happy. Thanks for commenting!
