I hate to go empty handed when I am invited to someone's home. I will typically bundle up 6 handmade cards of various greetings, place them in a cellophane bag and attach a pretty ribbon and a tag.
Bob the Builder and I went to Sanibel Island over Labor Day weekend. I had purchased a weekend at swanky hotel as a Father's Day gift for him. Getting out of town was a bit tricky since Hurricane Hermine had just blow through. We lost power for 3 hours on Thursday night (in the middle of my class!) and again on Friday morning for another 1 1/2 hours. Despite that, we weren't going to miss this much anticipated getaway.
You can see by the background that the weather wasn't perfect but hey, we were at the beach!
While our hotel experience was not all pleasant (we had to change rooms twice in two days, the hotel lost all air conditioning on day two and the lock on our hotel room was broken beyond repair…) we did enjoy being away. During our weekend visit we had planned a 70th birthday party for my step mom, Kathy. Since my Dad passed, holidays and birthdays didn't have the same excitement for her as they used to so we wanted to make this one extra special. And it was!
Everyone was there except Boo since she was working. This is my step mom, Kathy, and my three great-nephews. Henry is on the left (4), Luke is in the center (17 months) and Jack in on the right (6).
By Saturday morning the weather cleared and the view was glorious. There wasn't another drop of rain – until we decided to come home early on Sunday. Boo said the weather at home had been having hurricane squalls.
My nephew hosted us at his new home. There were birthday decorations, a red velvet birthday cake and yummy grilled food. I didn't go empty handed! I am in the midst of designing his wedding invitation – he's marrying a "Lisa". ((smile!)) I was brining their long awaited invitation proto-type. I was thrilled they loved it! I've just ordered the supplies and production is underway. Sorry, I am not sharing a picture yet – bride's request.
Bonnie from Stampin' Up! gives you a close up of this new Home Sweet Home Bundle. I thought these little houses would make super gifts to bring to a party being hosted by a friend or family member. Scroll down to view the video.
Their petite size makes them perfect for a house warming gift, a party favor or party decor. Take a look at how fun this new Home Sweet Home Bundle is!
