Do you save your cardstock scraps? I do!
I have an accordion file system that's easy and convenient for me. The open pockets provide me with quick access to all the colors. Since I stamp every day, storing them inside a file folder required me to keep the drawer open all day. And, sad to say, gracefulness was never one of my attributes. ((smirk)) If you've missed my storage tip video on my accordion scraps you can view it HERE.
Often times I'll grab a scrap of cardstock to stamp an image on and during the 'creative process', I decide that I want to punch it out. Although I love to fussy cut, punches are a great time saver and they guarantee a nice, finished look. But, those scraps prove frustrating when I insert them into the punch – because the cardstock is too small!
UGH!
I used to re-stamp them on another piece of cardstock, throwing away my original, but then I remembered THIS!
If this is a problem of yours as well, today's quick crafting tip is going to solve that for you. A simple Post-It-Note will extend the reach of your cardstock allowing you to use even the smallest pieces you've saved.
These stamp sets are 25% off through November 30th and they coordinate beautifully with the brand new – early release – of a brand new set of framelits called "Stitched Shapes".
Click on the image below to view the discounted stamp set list.
Add that special touch of looked stitching to your projects in just minutes using these exclusive framelits.
There's a great video showing you how they work HERE.
What a great idea!
Hi Darlene! This tip has saved me many times! I’m so glad you found it helpful.
Great tip……..I have used it many times as I am a huge scrap saver……I just can’t seem to make myself throw those scraps away……..also like your idea for the accordion file. I want congratulate you on the great accomplishment at the SU OnStage Event…….great job!
What a GREAT tip!! Would never have thought about using the sticky note! You’re the best! Thanks for sharing with us!
Hi Deanette! Yeah! This tip was helpful and that makes me so happy. It has saved me so many times that I’ve lost count – and my customers, too. They try to use up all the scraps at class and they often ask for a post-it-note. 🙂
Hi Karen! This is definitely a great scrap saver. Glad you already implement this tip. The accordion file is wonderful for me. I stamp so often that rummaging through drawers and pending files didn’t work for me – although it’s a great storage idea! Glad my tip about that helped you. Thanks, too, for the sweet words about the OnStage achievement. I’m still thinking it was a dream! 😀
Thanks Lisa…that is a great tip! I have a little container filled with all those ‘little scraps’ & now I know I can use them!
Yeah, Nanci! So glad this tip helped rescue those small pieces of cardstock. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
