As a kid growing up, Halloween in the late 1960's and early 1970's wasn't at all like it is today.
My Nana typically made our costumes and they were always awesome! My mom would send my sister and I out – alone – to trick or treat without a worry. We would hit every house within 4 blocks!
As we got older we ventured further but typically with our middle school friends – still without adult supervision.
Neighborhoods were quite different 'back in the day'. All the neighborhood moms watched out for each other's kids so we had many watchful eyes. My Halloween memories were filled with laughter, fun and lots of great candy!
For the past 13 years, Bob the Builder and I, along with our neighbors, have sat outside every Halloween and passed out candy. We have no plans to stop this tradition.
We provide a safe stop for kids to trick or treat. We love getting to know the neighborhood kids AND their parents. (Kids don't trick or treat alone these days.) We've formed lots of new friendships over the years, all while tossing a piece of candy into a plastic bucket shaped like a pumpkin!
I've included pictures and cutting dimensions below for today's project -a Halloween card.
Online classes and Project PDF tutorials will be available!
