SAM_2993Every other month Stampin' Up! mails its demonstrators a magazine full of inspiration.  This card is inspired from one of the articles.

So, you ask, what does "drip, drip, drip" have to do with anything?  Well, I "dripped" the background of this card using my Aqua Painter.  It's great for a random splatter look and adds some color with no effort.

The new Watercolor Wonder Note Cards and Envelopes include 20 printed cards on watercolor paper, making this technique really easy to accomplish.  Watercolor paper is thicker, absorbs water beautifully so you don't have to worry about puddles or over-saturating your regular cardstock which will appear piled.  It takes a little experimenting and no two cards will be alike.

Wanna "drip"?

  1. Be sure your Aqua Painter has plenty of water in it and that the bristles are wet.
  2. Squeeze your Stampin' Up! ink pad so that residual ink pools in the lid of the pad.
  3. Open the ink pad and dip your Aqua Painter into the residual, pooled ink that is inside the lid.
  4. Hold the Aqua Painter above the Watercolor Note Card and squeeze gently, moving the Aqua Painter to create a splatter effect.
  5. Allow 1-2 minutes for the watercolor paper to dry.
