Yesterday was the "combo birthday party" for my great nephews, Jack (4) and Henry (2). There are only 19 days separating their birthdays. So, while their still young, my niece has decided to do 'combo parties'. Smart Mom, huh?
These little men have stolen my heart – and I suspect lots of girls hearts in the future!
Their party was all Minion themed. If you haven't see the Universal Pictures movie "Despicable Me" you're really missing out. I love the mixture of adult and kid humor, the character's personalities (Agnes is my personal favorite!) and of course, the MINIONS!
Since the boy's party was Minion themed I figured I'd best make a Minion card.
And, it was a BIG HIT!
Thanks to Rae Harper-Burnet for the fabulous idea.
Here's what I used:
- Circle Framelits to shape the cardstock for his head
- Fringe scissors to create his hair (then I angled the edges with Paper Snips)
- Various circle punches to make his eyes and goggles
- Silver Glimmer Paper for the goggles
- Modern Label punch for the goggle edges
- White gel pen to form the white line definition in his eyeball
- Word Window punch for his pant suspenders
- The Ticket Duo punch for the pocket on his overalls
- Basic Black marker for his mouth and his overall stitch lines
I couldn't resis sharing my niece, Nikki's,. creative cakes and decorations. I think she did a fabulous job! ((I'm taking credit for her creative side. hehehe))
It looks harder than it really is but I think my little Minions are worth it!
Happy Birthday to Jack and Henry — Auntie Lisa loves you!
