Last Thursday I enjoyed yet another class with my regular scrapbookers.  It's a constant challenge (on my behalf) to come up with new layouts and color challenges. Sometimes I find inspiration from card, a magazine ad for home decor and often times from other creative people (better known as CASEing "copy and share everything").

September Scrap

This page, however, is a Lisa Original.  Look at all them dots!!!!

I had so much fun teaching my customers how to use the new Polka Dots & Stripes Masks.  They are not only easy but create a beautiful subtle background for your projects.

Here's a few tips:

  • I prefer a sponge versus a dauber. I found I was too heavy-handed with the ink when I used a dauber, so experiment first.
  • Sponge lightly.  The intensity of your ink looks a lot lighter while the mask is still on the paper then when it's removed.  I prefer to do a very light coat then carefully lift the corner of my mask and check to see if I have the shade I'm looking for.  You can always add more color but you can't remove it.
  • I used a few pieces of Painters Tape to hold my mask in place while I sponged. Worked great!

Don't overlook the fabulous masks in the catalog. Not only are there dots and stripes but there are hearts and stars, too!
