There's something so special about variegated flowers. The mixture of carefully blend of tones make them so interesting to look at. I'm a flower lover and that's prevalent in my yard. Variegated Pansies are among my favorites.
The idea for my card is a CASE (copy and share everything) from one I saw – somewhere ((heavy sigh because I can't find where or by whom)). Isn't it stunning?
During my Blendabilitites Class a few weeks ago this was one of the cards I taught that everyone made. Most of my customers had different colors so I experimented before the class and found that nearly all the color combinations made gorgeous variegated tones.
The secret is to use very little of the darkest shade and to blend lots. I used the Color Lifter near the ends to soften up areas that didn't blend quite the way I wanted them too. Think of the Color Lifter as the "Blendies Mover Marker". It does a super job of moving the color around. Use it sparingly until you get the hang of it. It takes a few seconds for the alcohol process of the marker to 'kick in'.
The white polka dots were added using the White Gel Pen. The large polka dot embossing folder plays up those dots nicely, doesn't it?
So, what's your favorite variegated flower – could this one be on your favorites list?
Remember, too, if you place an online order between now and September 20th you'll receive patterns AND these two cards. More details under the Creative Creases tab!
It was me! I love your case too, victoria xxx
