Today is the birthday to a very special person in my life – my step mom, Kathy, aka "Grandest Ma". Her grand kids nicknamed her that years ago and it stuck.
My parents divorced when I was 10 years old and I was blessed – beyond measure – when my Dad remarried Kathy. I was equalled blessed when my Mom remarried, too. Kathy's fun, wise and giving AND she likes to stamp!
It was just a year ago that we lost my Dad to Leukemia. He's greatly missed but we also know he's no longer suffering. He fought a long, hard battle and Kathy was an amazing wife and caretaker.
I created this card for my Card Class in August and I really liked the color combination. The bright Strawberry Slush and the pale Pistachio Pudding are so cheerful, aren't they?
I used the 2 1/2" Circle Punch for the greeting. Unlike what I typically do, which is stamp first then punch, I did the opposite here. I punched out the circle first, then stamped. It was a sure way to get all the words and the scroll image to fit. Best part, this stamp set "Age Awareness" is a photopolymer set so you can see EXACTLY where you're stamping! Have I mentioned how much I LOVE photopolymer stamps?
