"That's the pot calling the kettle black" is an old saying. If you never heard of it then you must be very young! Both my mom and Nana used it regularly when I'd rat my sister out when she did something wrong. I am the big sister so I liked to keep her 'accountable'. ((insert cheshire cat smile))
Speaking of black kettles…this adorable card idea was inspired by my friend and fellow demonstrator Pam Steckman. I loved how Pam used the images so that the legs and boots were sticking out from the cauldron.
I used the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder on the Old Olive cardstock layer to add texture and help mimic the stockings. The shoes are a separate stamp and easy to use since this stamp set is Photopolymer – completely clear. When you ink up the stamp, you can see exactly where you're stamping. I posted the stamp set image below. If you click on it you can see them more clearly.
I stamped the bat image in Whisper White craft ink. I love how the bat looks opaque so he doesn't 'steal the show' from the overall card layout.
Oh, and did you see that fabulous new thick, two-tone Baker's Twine? It comes in two colors; Old Olive and Tangerine Tango. They are both in the Holiday Catalog and great colors to use all year round. Be sure you purchase it before it's retired (January 5, 2015).
It's not too late! Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to place your online order to receive these two cards for FREE, along with their hard copy patterns.
Thanks for the shout out Lisa!
Of course, Pam! I LOVED your layout.
