Ok, I'm letting a secret out – I LOVE shoes! I actually love accessories, period. That's probably why I love to craft! What project doesn't need an accessory, right?
I'd love to have Mariah Carey's shoe closet.
Alas, I'll never have even a house that size to store all THOSE shoes in…and that's fine with me. Blessings come in all sizes and mine is about 1,800 square feet with a beautiful corner lot filled love.
Our 1,800 square foot abode is also gearing up for Halloween, In our neighborhood the trick or treaters are abundant. Last year we had over 250 kids! We've come to learn that each child gets only ONE piece of candy or it gets quite pricey.
Today's card is another that I created for my October Card Class. This card was inspired by one I saw created by Joanne Travis.
The words are actually part of a longer phrase but I wanted only the 'shoe' portion. You're thinking "of course, Lisa, it's all about the shoes" and you're absolutely right! I used the Basic Black marker and colored in the words I wanted, huffed on my stamp to re-moisten the ink (I call this the Darth Vader technique) and then stamped them.
I love the Calypso Coral pop of color. I used the marker to color in a few areas of the costume, too.
The black candy dots add a little texture, without adding additional postage! Here's a great tip, too. If you want more black candy dots than the package includes then simply color more with a black Sharpie marker while they are still attached to the packaging. Give them about a minute to dry then apply them to your project.
Here's to a great pair of shoes!
