Chalkboards are all the rage.

You've seen them display menu items at restaurants.

You've seen them advertise sales.

You've even seen ways to create your own chalkboard projects on Pinterest.

Yesterday Stampin' Up! debuted their new Chalkboard Paper and Chalk Ink Pads.

This was my first attempt at using the new Chalkboard Paper and the Chalk Ink pads.  I CASE'd this card from the Sale-A-Bration catalog and instantly fell in love with the look.

The Chalkboard Paper has is a heavier weight with a smooth grain which works great with the new Chalk Ink Pads and Chalk Marker.  The 'correct side' of this paper feels almost 'velvety' (lacking a better word).  I recommend heat setting it with your heat tool to speed up the drying process.  The end result is a gorgeous, chalky look with COLOR!

I stamped the cake in the Rose Coral Chalk Ink Pad and the sentiment in the Aquamarine Chalk Ink Pad. I recommend that you purchasethe refill for the chalk ink pads when you purchase them.  I also stamped a portion of the sentiment again with White Craft Ink, heat set it and 'fussy cut' it out and mounted it with Dimensionals.  By adding the white "Celebrate" I was able to coordinate the striped designer paper (also free during Sale-A-Bration called Best Year Ever).

I added a simple Basics Hodgepodge Clip with Whisper White Baker's Twine to the upper corner, too.

You're gonna love these new chalkboard products.  Remember, too, during Sale-A-Bration (January 6-March 31), when you spend $50 you can choose a free item from the sale catalog!

So, "chalk up" a SCORE for Stampin' Up! and this new product line!
