I'm a HUGE flower fan. I love the colors, the fragrance and their beauty. No two flowers are ever alike.
When I saw this new stamp set "Love is Kindness" in the Occasions Catalog it was reminiscent of a floral street vendor who wraps freshly cut flowers in news print for his customers. I knew when I sat down to play with this new stamp set that I had to elaborate on the news print.
The Calypso Coral Blendies (Blendabilities) were my choice for the tulips so I used the coordinating cardstock. I stamped the Dictionary background stamp in Whisper White Craft ink and heat set it to speed up the drying time. The craft ink is pigmented and takes a little longer to dry then die-based inks and I was a little anxious to get this card together.
I used the Corner Rounder to soften two opposite edges and added a button from the Sweet Dreams Designer Buttons. Although the buttons in the assortment are actually Crisp Cantaloupe I felt the contrast was perfect.
The bow is created from the new White Jute Ribbon – LOVE – MORE VINTAGE FLAIR!
I cut 16", trimmed off the stitched edge, pulled a strand off, folded it in half and made a bow. I used my Paper Snips to trim up the ends and a glue dot to hold the button and bow in place.
Flowers always make me feel happy. What makes you feel happy?
