Today's the day I get to share all 200 party favors with 60 Boy Scouts and their families for their annual Blue & Gold Banquet.
A family friend asked me months ago if I'd like to be a part of their Boy Scout Banquet. Naturally I said yes! This special night is an annual event that celebrates the anniversary of Scouting. There's a theme, "explore", complete with food, decorations and activities. Planning is a BIG DEAL and has been taking place for months!
During the banquet I will have a table set up that will showcase Stampin' Up! products and an upcoming class I have designed just for the Scout Moms.
I purchased the newest Project Life stamp set titled "Let's Get Away". The images are perfect for travel and, one specifically, was PERFECT for this event. The image reads "Never Stop Exploring".
I knew the favors had to be simple since I was making 200 of them. I also knew that boys didn't want anything too fancy. All they cared about is what I was putting inside. I was sharing my favor idea with some stamping friends and they eagerly volunteered to help.
We stamped, punched, put Dimensionals on the pieces, made banners, assembled and filled the boxes.
I stamped the globe from "The Open Sea" stamp set in Crushed Curry ink. I then stamped the greeting in Night of Navy ink on top of the globe. I used the 2 1/2" Circle punch to punch them out. The banners are made from Night of Navy cardstock measuring 1 1/2" x 4". We cut the ends to resemble a banner. I simply folded the banner over the lip of the Tiny Treat Boxes. The great part is that the bottom portion of the banner is not adhered so they boys can easily open and close the box.
Aside from a short pizza and chocolate chip cookie break, we finished all 200 boxes in 3 1/2 hours.
Ahhh, there's power in numbers!
What's inside? Candy of course! I want these Boy Scouts to remember me. ((smile))

What a special treat for amazing Boy Scouts. And YOU are amazing.
Well, Doris, you’ve made me blush. I’m not amazing…I love to give back and I love to craft. Everyone wins! 🙂 Have a great day and thank you for your sweet words.
The parents will love the box, especially the moms. The Scouts will love the candy….along with the dads. Sounds like a win, win in all areas. Very cute idea.
Thanks, Connie! You’re my resident Scout expert so that means a lot coming from you. Thanks, too, for your input and education on the Scouts. I’ve learned a lot about this fabulous organization!
