While surfing Pinterest I ran across an adorable card created by Dianne Sisneros.
Naturally, when you find a project you want to copy up end up changing it a bit. That's what I did with this one.
I had the perfect reason to buy this stamp, too! Any day now I will be getting "thee call" that my newest great nephew will be on his way. I'm on kid duty which means when my niece, Nikki, calls, I'll head over to watch the other two boys. I refer to them as my little loves. Jack will be 5 and Henry will be 3, both in June. We know Nikki's having a boy but her and her husband refuse to share his chosen name with us until he's born. So few things are left a surprise anymore so we're fine with their decision. In the meantime I'm calling baby #3, 'baby what's his name'.
So, this is baby what's his name's card!
I used a sponge dauber and rubbed Hello Honey ink onto the Honeycomb embossing folder layer. I layered the color so it went diagonally across the card for interest.
The designer paper is from Sweet Dreams and is cut 2"x4". I used 7" of the Hello Honey Quilted Cotton Ribbon and 8" of Linen Thread to make the side knot.
You'll notice that this single image stamp comes with the words included with the image. I wanted them separately so I used my scissors and cut the words off, mounting them on the side of the block. This is a great tip for those 'have to have' stamps where the words are included.
I can't wait until baby what's his name arrives. In the meantime, this bumblebee will have to do!
So cute! Love this “bumblebee” card you made. Got to order the stamp. And, never thought to “cut” the words off and place on the side. Going to look over my wooden stamps and do this. Thank Lisa, great ideas always. Have a happy day, R. 🙂
Hi Ruthie! I’m so glad you like the card. Dianne really had a great layout idea. The set is adorable, isn’t it? So glad I can help you maximize your wood mount stamps by separating the words from the images, too. It’s something I do often. It really extends the life of my products so I can use them for other occasions. Thanks for commenting! Happy Stamping!
