It's hard to believe that more than two weeks has passed since my semi-annual retreat, "Crafting at the Lodge". It was a huge hit and tons of fun to host.
This was our first time at the Brandon Elks Lodge in Brandon, FL and it was fantastic! The room was spacious and the food incredible. Everything was home cooked right on the premises and dinner was a sit-down meal complete with cloth napkins.
I love planning events around a theme and this retreat was focused on butterflies. The trellis was lent to us by the Lodge. We added some butterflies and of course this candy buffet. If you look closely you'll see that the jars are filled but covered. This picture was taken the night before the Retreat and Bob the Builder insisted that they remain covered so nothing was missing come morning.
Retreats are supposed to be relaxing and fun but I also like to pamper those that attend. Everyone had their own 'station' allowing them a place to store their crafting supplies and other personal items for the day. It's nice to have a place to 'call your own' where you can craft on other items in-between make & takes. I made sure that everyone's station was labeled and that there was a small gift waiting for them. My gifts have to match my theme. Yep, I'm the 'matchy-matchy' type. ((smile))
We ate in a separate dining room and while everyone was enjoying lunch I placed these boxes on each station. The box holds chocolate, of course!
I snuck away at dinner time to to provide an additional gift at everyone's station. This box holds an individual, clear mount stamp.
Looks like fun, huh? Great news!
