My March Stamp N' Scrap Club really enjoyed this 12"x12" double page scrapbook layout I created for them. I've been resisting the urge to share it with you until the Butterfly Thinlits came back in stock. BUT, I have good news…they should be available to order around April 15th.
Here's the BIG NEWS. From the day the Butterflies Thinlits are again available, through April 30th, Stampin' Up! will be bringing you two special offers:
- Get the Butterflies Thinlits at a 15 percent discount–just $21.20!
- Buy the Butterflies Thinlits Bundle and choose one of three FREE Sale-A-Bration items (only available while supplies last)!
- Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper (item 138633)
- Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (item 138634)
- Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (item 138635)
I will certainly keep you posted as to when that big day will be. In the meantime, here's some added inspiration!
I began with 12"x12" Crumb Cake cardstock. I stamped the fern image in coordinating ink, repeatedly, without re-inking the stamp. This allows some images to appear darker than others adding great dimension to the page. The Something Borrowed Designer Paper worked really well with the color scheme even though the color in the paper is Sahara Sand. The neutral tones all work stunningly together, I think.
I can't resist anything that sparkles so I added a small strip of Champagne Glimmer Paper that I punched using the Hearts Border Punch. The small butterfly image was stamped then punched out using the Bitty Butterfly Punch.
The rest of the stamping was done in a collage format. That's just a fancy art term for 'wherever you want'. Some of the images are stamped repeatedly to create added depth, just like I did with the fern.
The big show stopper is this gorgeous Butterfly Thinlit. I used the medium size thinlit to create this one. Notice the texture? Let me explain how I achieved that. I stamped a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the Lovely Lace background stamp in Early Espresso Ink. I used that stamped piece of cardstock to cut out the butterfly. Pretty, huh?
I also added some of the Sahara Sand Lace Trim which add just that right amount of vintage feel to this overall layout.
