April is national Autism month and TODAY is our big day as my team hosts our fundraiser to "Stamp Out Autism". Our event venue was donated by the Clarion Inn in Tampa and 52 people will gather to volunteer, stamp and purchase raffle tickets to benefit the Autism Society of America. Beef O'Brady's (adjacent to the Clarion Inn in Tampa, FL) has donated lunch, drinks and all the paper products and Little Greek Restaurant (Brandon, FL) has donated our desserts.
Our nationwide coordinator is Lee Conrey and she is also a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. Lee has a huge heart for fundraising! In fact, Lee holds a fundraising 'stamp out' event every other month, each time benefiting a different not-for-profit organization. With big visions, Lee decided it was time for a nationwide event and she rallied Stampin' Up! demonstrators across the U.S. to hold their own "Stamp Out Autism" event during April which is Autism Awareness month.
During our event today, our guests will create six different cards, each prepared, taught and donated by different Stampin' Up! demonstrators. In addition, these demonstrator also donated door prizes and obtained raffle donations from local retailers.
There efforts were HUGE. Together we collected over $3,700 in raffle donations! We were so blessed by our community that we bundled donations together. Basket values start at $85 and our largest is valued at $260! That's a great deal for a $1 raffle ticket, isn't it?
Our goal is to raise $2,000 by tonight.
