During my semi-annual retreat in March everyone created 8 cards using the beautiful Painted Blooms designer paper. This was one of the 8 designs I created. This paper is so gorgeous I didn't want to hide it so I got creative and decided that a Vellum overlay would work great.
I cut the designer paper 4" x 5 1/4". The Vellum cardstock is cut 3" x 5". I scored the Vellum cardstock 1/2" from each long end so I would have an area to place the adhesive. The scored sections are tucked behind the designer paper. Adhesive will show through Vellum so you need to be creative in how in how to disguise it.
The secret to perfect embossing results is the Embossing Buddy. Simply rub the 'Buddy' on your Vellum before inking. The anti-static powder is contained in a small pouch that prevents embossing powder from sticking where there isn't ink. I SWEAR by this product!
Once the area has been 'primed' with the Embossing Buddy, I used the Watercolor Thank You stamp and Whisper White ink to stamp the words.
I poured White Embossing Powder onto the wet, inked words and heat set them using the Heat Tool.
In case you missed it, I shared a Quick Tip video yesterday on how to easily heat emboss vellum without burning your fingers. You can view that video HERE.
My next all day crafting retreat is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th; 9am-7pm. I'd love to have you join us for a full day of pampering, great food, prizes, stamping and FUN!
