The new stamp set "Build a Birthday" is so much fun. I've made candles, cakes and presents using the 'boxed/lined' images in different ways. It's versatile and super easy to use since the stamp set is Photopolymer. Perfect alignment every time!
The cardstock base is Smokey Slate and I added a layer of Pink Pirouette cut 4" x 5 1/4". The Whisper White layer is cut 3 3/4" x 5".
The cake layers are comprised of just two color ink pads; Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette. The second layer of the cake was 'stamped off' first before stamping onto the white cardstock to reduce the color one shade. The 'stamp off' technique is a great way to maximize your ink pads and produce different shades of colors.
This pretty cake called for some flowers and pearls to play up the soft colors. I used the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flower, attached them with Glue Dots and added Pearls.
