Welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for June!
This month's theme is "Perfect Pairs" where we were asked to pair a carry over stamp set or color with something new from the 2015-2016 Catalog.
You may just be starting the blog hop here at Lisa's Stamp Studio, or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup is listed below and will help you move along from blog to blog so you don't miss any of the wonderful projects we're sharing.
I had no trouble finding an existing stamp set to coordinate with something from the new catalog. In fact, the problem was narrowing it down.
The first time I saw the "Land to Sea" stamp set I knew I had to have it. Living in Florida this set provides endless possibilities for cards and scrapbook pages.
I began with a half of sheet of Mint Macaron cardstock cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". I paired the carry over background stamp "Hardwood" which works perfectly for the rustic feel.
I used the Fun Frames Embossing Folder to create the label around my image, cutting it out the "fussy way". Oh, but it's worth it! Look how cool this looks!
I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" and stamped the sea turtle in Jet Black Staz On ink. I colored him in using my Aqua Painter and the coordinating Mint Macaron ink pad and the Soft Suede ink pad. I then used a hobby knife and cut out the center of the frame and a mounted the watercolored image behind it for a recessed look. The new Gold Metallic Thread adds a small touch of elegance to the overall card without overpowering it.
Keep hopping! We've got lots of new ideas to share!
