I've done it!
My very first, EVER, sketch challenge!
If you aren't familiar with what a sketch challenge is, let me explain. A volunteer design team of talented stampers each takes a turn at "hosting" a card layout idea called a sketch. The sketch is posted to their Freshly Made Sketches blog every Monday. If you accept the challenge to design a clean and simple card around the sketch you're encouraged to share it on their blog. It's a great way to get inspired AND to be inspired. Here's this week's sketch.
I purchased the new "Happy Notes" stamp set when it made its debut in this new catalog. I fell in love with the "new home" image in the set. Yes, JUST that image! It's the stinkin' cute fish bowl that got me! Come on, tell me you've never bought a stamp set because you loved just one or two of the images?
Here's what I've come up with.
I stamped the entire image in Pacific Point ink then used the Pool Party marker to color in a few of the boxes. I then used markers to color in the fish bowl, I stamped it on a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock and used the 1/4" circle punch to punch it out and mounted it with a Glue Dot. I told you that fish bowl was stinkin' cute!
I must have tried a dozen different things to put on the bottom portion of this card before I settled on the Subtles button and a small piece of cotton ribbon. And yes, I did thread that button with Whisper White Baker's Twine. Some things just need to be "fussy" in my world. ((smile))
