Welcome to our Blog Hop. Our previous Blog Hops included demonstrators who earned the Hawaii Grand Vacation but now we’ve included demonstrators worldwide who have earned Hawaii, Madeira and the Mediterranean.
This month’s Hop theme is “Color Me New” where we are featuring projects showcasing at least two new 2015-2017 In Colors.
My card uses three of the five new In Colors; Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe. I added the vellum overlay for the greeting simply because I felt stamping it at the bottom of my card was a bit too predictable. ((smile)) I really love these hops because they challenge me to try something new. I stamped the greeting on the vellum cardstock using Jet Black Staz On ink.
I used a combination of markers and ink pads for the square images and used my Squares Collection Framelits to cut them out.
Here are the cutting dimensions:
- Whisper White cardstock base is cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- Watermelon Wonder cardstock layer is cut 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Mint Macaron cardstock layer is cut 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
- Tip Top Taupe carsick layer is cut 3″ x 3″
- Vellum cardstock is cut 1 1/4″ x 5″
There’s only one “problem” with my card. Do you see it?
I’m a stickler about not using retired products during a current catalog period and guess what I did? I used the retired Essentials Clips on this card to hold my Baker’s Twine! When I pulled out my retired products I didn’t even realize I missed these clips and ended up using them. Oh well. I guess that makes me like the majority of you – using what I’ve got. ((smile))
Don’t stop here. Hop on over to the next stop on this Hop for more In Color inspiration!
Saturday is my birthday and I want to GIVE you a free gift!
Come back on Saturday and celebrate with me!
We used the same stamp set! Great minds think alike I have heard. I love what you have done with this card. The in Colours are so perfect for a garden stamp set like this one. Thanks for taking part this month Lisa.
How gorgeous is this card!?! LOVE what you have done with this set Lisa 🙂
love the use of the paper paper clip 😉
So totally cute Lisa. And I can just see you grimace about using the paper clip. Oh well, no harm done. I wonder if you can “make” a clip with our new framelits that would hold how you want it to? Enjoy your evening (at Convention??) and take care. God Bless, ~Cynthia <><
Great card design! 🙂
Pretty card!
Lisa this card is adorable! And it goes so well with the backyard/farm theme of your blog. You are so clever! I love the use of the vellum belly band for the sentiment. May I case this idea for a workshop? Beautiful post my friend!
Gorgeous Lisa…and the card too! Love the added vellum, might be CASE-ing that! I like the clip at the bottom with the little bow, very cute.
Thanks for playing along to the hop this month. Louise xo
Beautiful card, now I have to buy this stamp set :p
That stampset is stinking’ cute, but I just didn’t know what to do with it. Thank you for the inspiration. You just made a beautiful card. And that vellum on top is a great idea!
So many cute details in this card – it is lovely. I really enjoy cards where you constantly see new details.
Thank you all for your kind words. I was worried the background was a bit plain without being embossed but I was happy with the overall clean look. Darn that clip, though! LOL 😀
