Are you stumped on where to begin with your 12"x12" scrapbook layout?

Begin with a card idea.  Yep, a card.

Start by using the stamp set, designer paper and embellishments that you would like to incorporate into your scrapbook layout.  When you've completed your card you can easily adapt that design into your page.

See how this area of my layout can be used to create a card with a few minor adjustments?

Take a look at cards you've created or cards that you like. Duplicate it for your scrapbook page for your focal point.  Complete the remaining areas of your layout using duplicates of the focal area.

I began with 12"x12" Old Olive cardstock and used Delightful Dijon and Very Vanilla cardstock.

If you click on the picture above it will open in a separate window and you can see the delicate gold metallic thread that I used behind the words.

 To create this variegated image:

  • Ink the entire stamp in Delightful Dijon ink.
  • Stamp off on scratch paper so you are reducing the tone of the image.
  • Use a sponge dauber and tap it into the Tip Top Taupe ink pad several times loading it with color.
  • Randomly place the dauber over the inked stamp image.
  • I don't recommend reining your dauber again since you will transfer Tip Top Taupe to your Delightful Dijon pad.
  • Huff on your stamp to remoisten the ink and stamp on your cardstock.
