Frogs.
Some people think they're cute. Not me!
I have a frog story that would scare the best frog lover. It happened while we lived in Hawaii over 16 years ago. While I was raking leaves under a huge mango tree the rake hit what I thought was a rock. I tugged at it a bit more and out sprawled this HUGE frog. I mean HUGE! The body, without its legs, was at least the size of a dinner plate. When it opened up to jump I was terrified. Needless to say a neighbor came to my rescue – all 105 lbs. of her!
In light of my 'frog fear' it might seem strange that I love this image from the "You're Sublime" stamp set. I think the 'eyes' got me…they're so sweet.
If you like the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set you're gonna love this background stamp called Watercolor Wash. I stamped the image in Garden Green ink onto Garden Green paper. I colored the frog in with Garden Green and Wild Wasabi markers and used the Pool Party marker under him so he didn't appear to be 'floating'. Floating frogs – no way! It's bad enough they hop!
Here are the cutting dimensions:
- Garden Green cardstock base is cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
- Whisper White cardstock for the image is cut 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
- Wild Wasabi cardstock layer is cut 2 5/8" x 2 5/8"
- Basic Black cardstock layer is cut 3" x 3"
- I cut 8" of Pool Party Cotton Ribbon for the bow
When we moved to Florida I had no idea that frogs would be abundant. The good news is that most of them are really small. BUT, I have been known to scream for help while approaching the front door because a frog has conveniently perched himself near the door knob!
If you've got a frog story, I'd love to hear it! Leave me a comment.
