I've recently been reminded why memory keeping is so important.
Bob the Builder spent the last 8 days in Walla Walla, Washington moving his mom from her home into an assisted memory care apartment. Mom Curcio has handled the change extremely well and enjoys being surrounded by others and having her meals prepared. We are relieved that she's in a safe environment and that she's no longer alone.
Bob the Builder spent seven straight days cleaning out closets, drawers and file folders – sorting, shredding and reminiscing. He found countless things that are family heirlooms and among them – pictures! In fact, he brought more pictures home than any other tangible thing.
He had a stack of old black and white photos. Some dated back as far as WWII where his father served in the Navy at Pearl Harbor. He asked me if I'd like to look through them and as I did, I knew what he was going to ask me next.
Yes, of course, I'll scrapbook them! These treasured, old memories need a place to be stored AND an easy way to pass them down to Boo.
I designed this page for my Stamp N' Scrap Club this month and the subtle palette is going to be perfect for some of those black and white photos.
I die cut the word "family" from the Little Letters Thinlits. The great thing about these letters is that you can line up all the letters you need on the Magnetic Platform and crank just one time! Oh, and if I haven't mentioned it, there's a new Precision Base Plate coming out in the Holiday Catalog on September 1st and it's AWESOME with these intricate dies.
I used the Garden in Bloom stamp set for the flowers and the Stamp A Bag stamp set for the chevron lines. The watering can is from the set "Gift From the Garden".
My traditional 12"x12" Stamp N' Scrap Club ended this month but a new Project Life Club begins in January 2016. I have lots of fun tips and tricks to share about Project Life including shaker and monogram pockets. I've got 2 available spaces.

Simple works for memory keeping:). Do you mean your Project Life Class starts January 2016 rather than the 2015 mentioned in today’s post?
Oh my, Trish, you’re absolutely right. Thanks for catching that for me. I’ve corrected my text now. Looks like I need a good proof reader (more than this one time I’m sure, too!) Simple memory keeping ROCKS! 😀
