Today's the day – millions of pounds of candy begged for, graciously given away and consumed!
Today is also a special day in our neighborhood. It's our first-ever Halloween Block Party. Every year our neighbors sit out in the driveway and pass out candy to trick or treaters. Living in Florida, the evenings in October are the perfect temperature so we love being able to sit outside. Every year the neighbors say "We should get together and grill before the kids go out for candy." No one has ever taken the lead so I volunteered! No RSVP's were required. We just asked everyone to bring their own meat to grill and a small side or dessert to share. We have no idea how many neighbors will show up. We might have 4 people or we might have 50 !
Halloween doesn't have to be about spooky cards. This one is definitely not a spooky card, unless you hate spiders! ((smile)) When we lived in Hawaii I wasn't a fan of spiders (although I did kill them!) because the Hawaiian Cane Spider is huge!
The spider on this card is itty bitty and I'm grateful for the coordinating framelits in the Howl-O-Ween Treat Bundle. Every image in the stamp set has a framelit. No fussy cutting ((and the crowd cheers))!
I used the Woodland Embossing Folder for texture, added some stars from the Confetti Stars Punch and the Happy Haunting Designer Paper makes the perfect backdrop for my window – also created with Framelits!
Regardless of how many people show up for our first ever Halloween Block Party I'm grateful for this time to spend with my neighbors. I am excited to get to know them and their children better and I love being a safe stop on their trick or treat route!
Have a fun, safe day everyone!
