Here's a challenge I couldn't resist.
I've been wanting to CASE the card on page 24 of the Holiday Catalog for months. The inspiration challenge from Curtain Call gave me the perfect excuse to pull our my inks, watercolor paper and embossing tools.
I'll admit, this is not a 10 minute card but the results are STUNNING! There are lots of layers of embossing and color that create this soft, textured Christmas card.
The base of my card is Whisper White cardstock which I trimmed in the Everyday Chic Washi Tape. I cut a piece of Watercolor Paper and covered the entire piece with water from my Aqua Painter. I then added color from the Pool Party and Marina Mist ink pads to create a blended background.
The next step was heat embossing but I need to be sure the watercolor paper was dry so I used my Heat Tool to speed up the process. I stamped the snowflakes from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set in Whisper White Craft Ink, added White embossing powder and heat set the image. I allowed it to cool before the next step – more embossing.
This time I used the Silver embossing powder and my VersaMark ink pad. I simply tapped the pad onto the Watercolor Paper and sprinkled the paper with the silver powder. After I heat set I was thrilled with the collaged results.
I ripped a piece of Vellum Cardstock and embossed the greeting and adhered it with more of the Everyday Chic Washi Tape. Of course a few rhinestones never hurt to bring in a little shimmer and compliment the silver.
