Freshly Made Sketches has a brand new challenge, #217, and I couldn't wait to try it with the Going Global stamp set that will be released on January 5, 2016 in the new Occasions Catalog.
One of the things that attracted me to the Going Global stamp set was several masculine images. The images are going to be great for scrapbooking too since the globe and compass will compliment any travel layout.
I wanted to create something simple yet striking. Since I love sparkly things I mind masculine cards the most challenging for me to create. I opted for the Gold Foil sheets to help break up the designer paper and Basic Black cardstock. Although I'd consider the Gold Foil Sheets "sparkly" I think they still work for this masculine card.
I stamped the compass image in the Gold Foil Sheet using Jet Black Staz On. I allowed it to dry completely before using the Starburst Framelits to die cut the image. I mounted the compass on Dimensionals over a 3" x 4" piece of Going Places Designer Paper.
I added a large rhinestone to the center of the compass to compliment the shine of the gold foil and then used Gold Metallic Thread to wrap about my card.
Since the card itself was so dark I knew the greeting had to stand out so I used a piece of vellum cardstock measuring 1/2" x 4" and stamped the greeting in the same Staz On ink. Be sure to allow the vellum to dry before handling it.
