Every year I host a Christmas party for my Hawaii Ink team of stampers. I love themes and this year's theme was Candy Canes.
I guess you could say that I go a little 'over the top' when it comes to decorating for these events. My friend, Angie, and I spent 90 minutes arranging and rearranging so things looked just like I had envisioned.
My customer, and friend, Colleen K., made homemade cupcakes that had crushed candy cane filling. They were absolutely the BEST cupcakes I've ever eaten!
The best part of our night was the fellowship. I love the people on my team. We're all good friends, stamp together monthly at our Inspiration Nights and we sure know how to make one another laugh. In addition to the make & takes (I've featured one below), we have a white elephant ornament exchange. This year owl ornaments were all the rage. This picture sums up the shock as Kelly opened yet another owl ornament!
The stamping takes up the majority of our night together. Here's one of the projects they created. I CASE'd this from Jill Olsen who swapped this card with me during Founders Circle.
The red and white was perfect for my party theme. The pom-pom trim added the texture and a festive feel to this card. I added a 2" circle of silver glimmer paper behind the greeting which gives the card the right amount of holiday sparkle. Oh, and let's not forget about that gorgeous Holidays Fancy Foil vellum. Don't the red and white stripes remind you of a candy cane?
The Everyday Chic Washi Tape lines the center between the vellum and the Real Red cardstock and the silver cord ties it all together nicely.
This card was a huge hit at the party. It exemplifies JOY!
