I'm often asked where I get my inspiration. If you've followed my blog for any time you know that I am inspired by color and sketch challenges. Today's card is centered around the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #162.
I used the Occasions Catalog stamp set "A Nice Cuppa" and coupled it with the coordinating "Have a Cuppa Designer Paper Stack".
The beauty of this new stamp set is that it comes as a bundle. Bundles include the Framelits and the stamp images – perfect since most of us don't enjoy this much fussy cutting. Bundles are also include a 15% discount versus purchasing the products separately.
As a time saver I die cut the tea cup and tea bag at the same time. I placed them on the Magnetic Platform, aligned the coordinating Framelits and cranked them through the Big Shot die cutting machine.
I used half of a Tea Lace Paper Doily to create a division on the card and created a small banner to hide any imperfections of my cut. If you look closely you'll see that I used the Gold Wink of Stella on the tea tag.
The lemon doesn't have a Framelit only because it fits perfectly in the 1 1/4" Circle Punch. After I punched it out, I cut it in half and made a slit with my scissors to slide it on the rim of the cup. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the lemon which creates a beautiful shimmer.
I used 3" of Linen Thread to connect the tea bag to the cup, using a Glue Dot.
Tomorrow is the last day to order this round of Studio Stamps in the Mail that will include the Going Global stamp set, pre-cut supplies, envelopes and embellishments to make 8 cards; 2 each of 4 designs plus a PDF step-by-step tutorial with pictures. Here's a sneak peek. Get all the details HERE.
Oh, I love your wonderful take on the sketch!
