In January, Stampin' Up!'s Demonstrator Training Manager, Shannon West was kicking herself for not sending out Christmas cards. She then noticed that lots of her friends were posting their Christmas cards in emails and on Facebook rather than mailing them. She expressed how a hand-stamped card in our mailboxes was becoming extinct and she felt she was contributing to the problem. So, she did something drastic.
That very same day she decided to post on her Facebook page that she would send a birthday card to anyone that wanted one. She didn't consider the possibilities (or the consequences). She was astonished by the posts that flooded her timeline. In 24 hours she had over 300 responses. She started a spreadsheet to keep track of months and days and went to work making birthday cards – lots of birthday cards!
Her spreadsheet continued to grow and she currently has over 1,300 people on that list!
After a few weeks, the Sara Douglass, the acting CEO of Stampin' Up! approached Shannon and asked how the company could support this new "movement" which Shannon calls #imbringingbirthdaysback. Stampin' Up! has decided to manufacture a stamp that can be used to create cards and placed on envelopes to keep this movement going strong. This single wood mount stamp was available for less than a few hours when it sold out! Stampin' Up!, however, heard our pleas for more and are currently in the manufacturing process of creating more. In fact, this stamp will become a part of our regular offering – soon!
I know you're going to want your own #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp. Subscribe to my blog so you don't miss it's official "re-introduction" date.
I've created a free project sheet tutorial for this project. Click in the text below.
