As a kid my Mom made a huge deal out of our birthdays. We didn't have to do chores, we chose our dinner and the kind of cake we wanted. We always had a party, typically on a Saturday, when our friends and family could come over and spend the day with us. Since my birthday is in July that always meant a full day of swimming and BBQing!
As I got older parties changed. My Mom began to separate them. There was one for my friends and another with family. I actually thought that growing older was a great thing because there was double the celebration! My "friends party" typically had a theme.
One of my favorites was a pirate theme and she arranged for a scavenger hunt at a local, outdoor shopping center. One of the clues was actually in the mall fountain. I was on a team with 7 of my friends and we eagerly jumped in, splashing, looking for the next clue. Someone in the shopping center must have thought it was strange to see 8 young adults in a fountain at night and called the police. We had some explaining to do – especially since we were dressed like pirates!
I opted to place the greeting repetatively at the bottom of the card versus in one location. And, how about that eye catching banner?
I used markers to color in the stamp in sections and used the Banners Framelits to cut it out.
Here's to parents everywhere that go above and beyond to make birthdays amazing!
Don't forget – tomorrow is the Autism Awareness Blog Hop!

Cute card today, Lisa. I love the colors and the multitude of “happy” at the bottom. So cute.
Hi HJ! Thank you! I really had lots of fun creating this one. The multiple words was stamped on whim and then liked it. Don’t you love when that happens?! 😀
