Stampin' Up! demonstrators have banded together today for a Blog Hop to bring awareness to Autism. It's my hope, that while you're being inspired, that you will also consider making a donation to my fundraising page on the Autism Society web page. Last year I was able to raise over $2,000 with your help! Any amount helps, even $1 and your donation is 100% tax deductible.
The projects shared on this Hop are centered around thanking caretakers who provide love and support to those with Autism. I created two cards and couldn't decide which one to share – so I'm sharing them both. The cards use the same color concept and similar supplies.
Did you know:
- 1 in 50 children living in the U.S. has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Boys are 4 times more likely to have Autism than girls
- Autism is the fastest growing disability among children in the U.S.
- Autism is more prevalent among children than diabetes, cancer and pediatric AIDS combined.
- The lifelong cost per individual with Autism is estimated between $3-5 million dollars
I couldn't resist sharing this 2 minute video with you.
From the second I set eyes on the Bloomin' Heart Thinlits I knew it would be my favorite product in the Occasions Catalog. Every time I've used it I've been thrilled with the results. The Precision Base Plate, layered on the Magnetic Platform, is a must for this die as it will produce a clean cut through the intricate layers. The Big Shot Die Brush is my next best friend. I roll it across the die several times and it releases the paper with ease.
My second card uses the same Watermelon Wonder Designer Paper and Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Paper.
The Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack includes a small flower. I punched out two, crumbled them up (great stress reliever!) and used a Glue Dot to connect and attach them. A small rhinestone was added to the center for a little added shimmer.
Don't stop here. Head on over to Lee Conrey's blog for her amazing project.

Beautiful cards, Lisa. I love the elements of both cards. The heart is so pretty and I love the crunched flowers on the second card. Thanks so much for sharing the video. It is amazing what technology can do for so many people. Dillan’s story is so heartwarming.
