Each year Stampin' Up! appoints an Artisan Design Team. I'm a huge fan of these demonstrators because their work is not only 100% original but always over-the-top amazing. The team is comprised of different styles which makes following their work even more enjoyable. These demonstrators serve on the team for a year, sometimes longer.
Erica Cerwin was on the team in 2012 and I'm a big fan of her work. You know how it is, you find someone's style that resonates with your heart and when you see their work you just "KNOW" it's "them"!
Today's card was inspired by a layout Erica used on her card last year. I decided that the layout would be perfect for a textured and chalkboard paint background.
If you missed my video on using chalkboard paint you can find it HERE.
The Melon Mambo background makes for a fun and feminine card and a great color to add black chalkboard paint. I used a 1" foam brush to apply paint in the lower right corner of the card. The paint dries very quickly and the Whisper White craft ink stamps beautifully over the top.
I used the Stylish Stripes embossing folder on a piece of 2" x 5 1/4" Whisper White cardstock then applied chalkboard paint to the raised edges. I wasn't particular about where the paint landed.
And how about those rhinestone hub caps? Their bling really brings plays up the silver glimmer paper heart, doesn't it?
Don't miss out on my next round of Studio Stamps in the Mail including the stamp set "Helping Me Grow". Deadline to order is April 28th. No club commitment. Details HERE.
