Framelits and Thinlits have come a long way over the years. Years ago, the dies were strictly used to cut out basic shapes. Dies then evolved into cutting out stamped images. Fast forward a few more years and along came dies that created 3D items such as boxes, flowers and rosettes.
And it has evolved again! Detailed dies have intricate lines and details creating beautiful cut pieces of paper to layer on your cards, tags or 3D projects.
As much as I love them, I've struggled with the best way to adhere them. Fine Tip Glue dries too quickly. Liquid Glue is messy. SNAIL adhesive is too wide for small, fine lines.
So, how do we remedy this? It's simple, use Tear & Tape!
Today's quick tip video will show you how easy it is to apply the tape to your cardstock before you die cut. It eliminate the need for adhering with additional products and guarantees great adhesion.
Here are a few cards I've created using Stampin' Up!'s beautiful detailed dies.
Detailed Floral Thinlits - this card, plus 3 others, are included in my Project PDF Tutorial library HERE.
Santa's Sleigh Thinlits – this card will be included with 3 others for November's Studio Stamps in the Mail.

Okay, your tips are ALWAYS clever and clearly presented, but this is over-the-top fabulous! Never would have thought of the tear-tape because it IS so sticky, I would have thought it would gum up the die. (I know when I have cut strips of the tape with my scissors I get residue from time to time. However, I tried your tip and the die seems perfectly clean after passing through the tape with my Big Shot.) Hooray! Thanks for the super idea.
Great tip, Lisa. It is a new one for me and I’ll have to try it soon. Thanks so much. Have a great day!
