Who remembers using scissors to make small slits in paper to resemble blades of grass?
I've crafted all my life. It's a trait my grandmother passed down to me, and creating grass with scissors is something she taught me at a young age. I was cheerfully in charge of creating all the grass for our Easter gifts, favors and centerpieces. You'd think that after hours of snipping that I would have been bored or tired of doing it – but I wasn't!
Thankfully creating grass, or fringe, has come a long way for paper crafters. We no longer have to cut one tiny slit at a time.
Today's quick tip video shows you how to use the Stampin' Up! Fringe scissors. I've included tips to avoid tears and how best to hold your paper. These scissors have 5 blades that allow you to create small slits/fringes on designer paper or cardstock in seconds.
I'm including a few pictures below of the card I created for today's tip video. I'm convinced you'll want a pair of these scissors for yourself. Holiday cards just got fancier – and easier – to create!
Create two layers of fringe for a dramatic look by layering two different widths of designer paper, one on top of the other.
