It's officially the day of LOVE.

Speaking of loves – Bob the Builder is doing incredibly well. His rotator cuff surgery was 2 weeks ago today and he's become more independent as each day passes. He has had no pain! The nerve block lasted 24 hours! He had the most incredible surgeon.
The night of surgery, I had a need to make a call to the phone number listed on the hospital discharge papers. Imagine my SHOCK when the doctor answered the phone! He had provided his cell phone number on the discharge papers! When is the last time that's EVER happened? Huge kudos to Lt. Col. Chris Linberg of MacDill AFB for his bedside manner, skill and genuine concern.
When it comes to the ones we love, we want only the best to care for them.

You might think it's an embossing folder – and it is – of sorts.
I inked up the raised side of the Hexagons Dynamics Embossing Folder using Memento ink. I placed the cardstock inside and lightly rubbed, transferring the impression to the paper. I wasn't careful about where I pressed or how hard. I was after a vintage, rough look.
I colored in the chicken using the So Saffron marker. Afterwards, I went over the feather lines with the Crumb Cake marker. I used the Sahara Sand marker for the head and tail, outlining those areas with the Crumb Cake marker. The Real Red marker colored in the comb.
The small 'smudge' of ink you see under the feet were created by scribbling the Crumb Cake marker on my clear block. I then picked up the color using my Aqua Painter and washed a little color on the cardstock. I wanted there to be a little "ground" for my chicken to stand on.
Right now, I'm headed to the kitchen where my heart-shaped box of chocolates await. Bob the Builder had Boo drive him to the store so my traditional Valentine gift was waiting for me this morning! Smart man…he's got to take care of his nurse, right? ((wink, wink))
