Boo recently asked me if I had a way of 'branding' my work. Branding to a film production major (that's Boo!) is as important as the corporate logo for any television network. It's how you're identified.
My answer was simple. Embellishments!
I absolutely love bling. Pearls, rhinestones, sequins, glimmer paper, glitter, foil, metallic thread – if it's shiny, it's got to be included. In fact, there aren't too many things that I create that don't include one of those things.
One of my biggest problems – ready – is knowing when to stop! I can over embellish a handmade card until it weighs a pound…and then how to do you mail it?
Paper crafters put their hearts into our handmade creations. Sending cards through the mail is a centuries old tradition and one I don't intend on stopping.
What's more thrilling than opening your mailbox to find a handmade greeting card – and not a bill! Instant smile!
Mailing my sometimes over-embellished cards often has me wondering if it can be delivered with one stamp.
Did you know that your Stampin' Up! paper trimmer is the perfect postage guide? Yep! Take a look at today's quick tip video!
It's ordering time for this month's Studio Stamps in the Mail! This month's package is screaming to be a part of your paper crafting stash! The popular Dragonfly Dreams stamp set has coordinating framelits – included in this month's SSITM. I'll include pre-cut supplies, embellishments, envelopes, a package of Dimensionals, a video and PDF tutorial plus Priority Mail delivery right to your home.
AND, you can choose a free Sale-A-Bration stamp set or the Sale-A-Bration metallic ribbon combo pack with this month's SSITM!

That is an amazing quic tip, Lisa. How did you ever figure that out? Thank you!
Great tip. Our PO is horrible at bending and “feeling” cards. This will help.
Hi Linda! All post offices are ‘touchy feely’ with our cards. They have the responsibility of making sure that they will fit through the automatic postage feeder and don’t require additional postage. This tip surely helps. Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to stop and comment. The feedback is so important to me. HUGS!
What a great tip….I never would have thought to use the trimmer this way. Thanks so much.
Hi Cindy Jo! It’s nice to hear from you again! I’m so glad you found the tip helpful. As for how I learned this trick…years ago the postman showed me the cardboard sheet they use to determine whether an envelope will fit through the postage meter at the post office. I created one using the Word Window Punch (now retired) and used it for many years as my guide. Over a year ago someone told me about the trimmer guide being the same side – I wish I could remember who it was – so I tried it. It works! You’re going to love the convenience of this tip. Thanks for watching and stopping to comment.
Hi Barbara! So glad you found this helpful. Thanks for stopping by to watch.
What a great tip! I always wished I had the thing they use to test our cards!
Hi Alice! So happy to hear that this is helpful. I used a piece of cardstock with the Word Window Punch as a guide for years. Alas, this is easier and far more convenient to find! Hope you’re feeling better today!
Hi Lisa . . . . Thank you for pulling another rabbit out of your hat. You’re the best!
You’re too funny, Loretta! 😀 Glad you enjoyed the tip.
FABULOUS Tip! Thank you! Since we all have Stampin’Up! Trimmers, this is perfect! You are the best!
