Receiving a new stamp set is so exciting!
Until you ink it up and realize you're not getting a good impression. You clean the stamp and try again. Same problem.
You begin to question if you need a firmer surface or a better handle of the stamp.
After numerous attempts you end up frustrated – and confused. Why isn't it stamping well?
Often times new stamps have 'debris' from the manufacturing process that impedes with the ink. It's not visually noticeable but it doesn't provide a crisp image.
Try priming your stamp. This is especially helpful with photopolymer stamps and works great on all 'red rubber' images as well.
