Welcome to our annual Autism Awareness Blog Hop!
I consider it a huge honor to be part of this blog hop where a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who have come together to raise funds and awareness for Autism.
I'd like to introduce you to my friend, Dedra and her two sons, Ricky (on the left), age 12 and DJ (on the right), age 15. Dedra and I met three years ago at an Autism Fundraising event I hosted. Both of her sons have Autism.
Did you know that Autism is more prevalent among children than diabetes, cancer and pediatric AIDS combined?
I used the Sheltering Tree and Work of Art stamp sets to create my card. When I met Dedra I realized that she's a pro at being patient and adaptable.
I used the Confetti Hearts Border Punch and punched out small hearts in different colors reminiscent of Autism awareness. And, yes, I glued on each heart, one at a time.
It took a few minutes, but like Dedra, I learned that good things come out of being patient.
DJ and Ricky are very special boys and very dear to my heart. In fact, when we traveled on a Stampin' Up! incentive trip, DJ wanted to come along. Since we knew we couldn't take him, we did the next best thing. We created a "flat DJ" and took him every where with us, photographing him with everything we did. He loved the pictures!
DJ and Ricky are warm, loving boys. It's my hope, that together, we can raise awareness and funds to help their future.
I hope you would consider giving – just $1 makes a difference! Click HERE or on the image below to be directed to the Autism Society's secure website where you can give online.
