Ever since I was young I've loved to color. A new box of crayons (with the built in sharpener, of course!) and a new coloring book were my favorite gifts. As I grew older that passion grew into acrylic and oil painting, air brushing, colored pencils, pastels and eventually into rubber stamps.
Because of my passion for coloring, when I saw the Garden Girl stamp set (page 168) I knew I had to have it! The large outline images provide the perfect area for markers or watercolor pencils.
Instead of stamping directly on white or vanilla cardstock I opted to stamp on designer paper. I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and then layered the two colors of Color Theory Designer Paper to represent the sky and the grass.
I stamped the fence image on the Wood Textures Designer Paper then cut it out using my Paper Snips.
Take a closer look at the bird, grass and flowers and you'll see that they are stamped directly on the designer paper. I knew the printed designer paper would show through the areas I markered but I loved the texture it brought to the images.
The Tree Builder Punch created the perfect clouds. I sponged the edges using Crumb Cake ink. I also sponged the edges of the designer paper layers for a vintage, worn look.
The greeting is from the stamp set "Here For You" and houses a coordinating heart enamel shape.
If you like to color, like I do, then don't miss adding this stamp set to your wish list!

I like how you can see through the images onto the background. It does add texture. Nice job.
Thank you so much! Thanks, too, for taking the time to stop and leave me a comment. The feedback is always appreciated.
Gorgeous card Lisa! The scene you’ve created is adorable.
