Have you noticed the popularity of white cards?
If you peruse Pinterest you can't help but take note that lots of hand stamped cards have more white space than ever before.
I love layers, detailed designs and embellishments. But, every once in a while, it's nice to create a clean and simple card. I think I've captured that today with my Happy Birthday card. And, guess what? No stamps required!
After I create a card I complete a supply checklist for it. The checklist allows me to blog the supplies and cutting dimensions for you without having to try and remember them. I typically sit down to create and will make a dozen different cards over the course of a few days. Geesh, remembering what I had for breakfast was difficult – can you imagine?!
The funny thing about this card is that there were no stamp sets to list on the checklist!
I used the new Happy Birthday Thinlit to make this card – and many other designs that you'll see in the upcoming weeks. I never thought the die would be so versatile and easy to use. I used the Precision Base Plate on top of my Magnetic Platform and it die cut beautifully.
I began by die cutting five (5) of the greetings using Whisper White cardstock. I cut away the "happy" from the "birthday" using my Paper Snips. I adhered four (4) of the "happy" to the center of the base of my card. I used liquid glue, a sponge and my silicone craft sheet to easily adhere them. If you missed my quick tip video on how to do this, you can view it HERE.
I cut off the word "birthday" from one of the remaining die cuts and used 6 different sponge daubers and ink pads to achieve this rainbow look. It wasn't difficult and it took just a few minutes to complete.
Here are the order of the ink pads used, left to right: Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Real Red, Wisteria Wonder, Pacific Point and Emerald Envy.
