I’ve never acquired a taste for coffee. I love the smell but I can’t get past the bitterness. Bob the Builder and Boo profess that I need to add more cream and sugar. I’ve tried. Nothing takes away the ‘bite’ of the caffeine. Boo thought it would be a good idea for me to try a Starbucks Vanilla Bean Frappucinno. To my surprise, it tasted nothing like coffee! I can now hold a Starbucks cup and feel like I fit into the mainstay of society. ((smile))
The Coffee Cafe Bundle sings to both the coffee, green tea and frappucinno lover. The stamp set and coordinating framelits create two different size cups with all the trimmings. There’s even a ribbed coffee cup sleeve and a splash stick.
My frappucinno card needed a background, and, if you’ve followed my blog for some time you know that I like “different”. I wanted a fun, whimsical pattern so I tried dragging the top edge of the Pear Pizzazz and the Early Espresso ink pads back and forth across the cardstock. I loved the way it turned out.
If you look closely, you’ll see that my frappucinno cup has a clear lid. It’s also a framelit included in this Bundle. I die cut the lid using a piece of Window Sheet and used Glue Dots to adhere it behind the cup rim.
The cup is stamped on Pear Pizzazz cardstock and embossed using the Sparkle Embossing Folder.

To finish, I added a few pearls and a simple banner. I used Post-it-Notes to mask the greeting so I could use just the word “happy”.

Carols of Christmas stamp set

Love this card & the idea of dragging the ink pads for background.
Hi Gaeyl! These types of backgrounds are both easy and decorative. I hope you’ll give it a try. Thanks for stopping by!
I would love to see a video of the technique you described for the background of today’s card.
Hi Trish! Really? Ok, I’ll schedule it. You can expect to see it the first week in September! 😀
I’m with you Lisa. I never acquired the taste for coffee either. Even a little hint of coffee in something makes it too bitter for me. Your card is very nice. Would work well for masculine (where I struggle to create).
Hi Mary! I’m so glad I’m not alone. The populous certainly loves coffee and I sure wish I did, but that bitterness, like you said. No way! So glad you like the card. It sure would be great for a guy, too. As far as masculine layouts, I struggle with that, too. I like flowers and girly things. Often times with a simple change of color we can accomplish a great guy card, too. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment. Have a great week!
Really great card! I will look forward to the video of your ink technique as I am sure it would just look a big mess if I tried without seeing it!! Thanks for sharing your creativity….
Hi Nanette! Thanks for stopping by. A video tutorial on how to create the background will be coming the first week of September. It’s super easy! 😀
Love the technique you use. What a great card!
Hi Kathy! Thank you! I’ll have a quick tip video coming up about this ‘swoosh’ technique in a few weeks.
