If you're a regular follower of my blog you know that I love to garden in my spare time. I've learned to love flowers from the many years I helped my mom when I was younger. it was the weed pulling that I hated and because of that, I swore I'd never do it as an adult. Seems the things our mothers did does rub off on us. And, I'm not sorry.
The Garden Girl stamp set speaks to my outdoor passion. But don't let this nostalgic looking garden face fool ya. If you're not into coloring then this is not the stamp set for you. You want me to be honest, right? ((smile))
I used watercolor paper and stamped the image in Basic Black archival ink. I profess, I never stay inside the lines when I color, no matter how hard I try, but that's part of watercoloring.
I used a combination of ink pads and an Aqua Painter. The new In Color, Powder Pink, is perfect for flesh tones.
If you look at page 169 in the catalog you'll see where I got my inspiration for this card. I changed the ribbon layout but otherwise, I CASE'd the card. The catalog is loaded with great inspiration. There's no shame in copying!
I added pattern to the pockets of her dress using the retired White Gel Pen. I tried the White Chalk Marker but it was a bit too thick for the job. Sometimes those retired products (that I know you still have!) are a wonderful addition to our projects.
There are two new gingham ribbons in the catalog, Night of Navy and Smoky Slate. Like all Stampin' Up! ribbons, I'm thrilled with the double-sided pattern and texture.
Are you a garden girl? Perhaps you love flowers like I do, or you enjoy growing your own vegetables. Whatever it is, I'd love to hear about it. Leave me a comment.
I'm in business because of your business. If you don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like a complimentary copy of the catalog, contact me HERE and I'll be happy to send you one. I also offer exclusive online ordering rewards and exceptional customer service.
You are gonna force me to buy this set! ugh I love this set now!
Hi Pam! No forcing – it’s adorable if you like to color, like I do! 😀
