When I think of Christmas time I think of a white blanket of fresh snow. Living in Florida I won’t see that this December but I do remember what it looks like since I grew up in the Chicago suburbs. I recall a trackless blanket of white with billowy drifts that shimmered. It’s a lot like today’s card.

I’ve wanted to try this technique since the Embossing Paste debuted in the annual catalog. If you’re not sure how to use the Embossing Paste, I’ve got a video tutorial HERE. Dazzling Diamonds Glitter adds the perfect sparkle, too. The best part about this technique, it requires no experience. The kids can even create this!

The greetings in the Carols of Christmas stamp set are bold and large. I wanted just the “peace” so I cut apart the text after I stamped it. A simple layer of Pool Party cardstock provides the perfect touch to this banner.

And sparkle needs more sparkle, right? I used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper to die cut the trees. I sure wish you could see this card in person. It’s stunning! This card makes me chilly just looking at it.
Here are the steps to creating your own shimmery snow bank.
- Spread the desired amount of Embossing Paste on the Parchment Paper. Parchment paper will provide for an easy clean up.
- Add Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the top of the paste.
- Using the Palette Knife, mix the paste and glitter together well.
- I ripped a piece of Whisper White cardstock randomly to represent the snow bank. Apply the glittered paste to the cardstock randomly. It’s not important to cover every area of the cardstock. Don’t smooth the paste out and you’ll have beautiful snow drifts.
- Let dry. The thicker you apply the embossing paste the longer you will need to let it dry. This card took approximately 15 minutes to dry.

And let’s not forget that beautiful Marbled background. This stamp will create gorgeous backgrounds in every color.
This Bundle of product (stamp set and coordinating framelits) are available now as a pre-release. You can also use your Bonus Days coupons toward this purchase. It’s a great time to get a jump start on your holiday cards.
