If you’ve followed my blog the last few months you will have noticed that I’ve been challenging myself to design cards with a different angle and/or direction. My card today has another new angle – it’s cornered – in the center.
I used the Happy Birthday Thinlit on Whisper White cardstock and cut off the ‘birthday’ portion. I used Mini Dimensionals, cut in half, to mount the greeting.
I stamped the word “birthday” using the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. It’s one of my favorite greeting sets since there is a large variety of words that can be used independently or in phrases.
The Jar of Love stamp set has beautiful flower which created my cluster for the top corner layer. The Everyday Jar Framelits did all the cutting for me. I added pearls to the center of the flowers as well as the base of the card.
You might be wondering about cutting dimensions for this card. The Whisper White cardstock base was cut 4 1/4″ x 11″. I cut the additional Whisper White layer and the Crushed Curry layer both 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.
I adhered the Crushed Curry layer on the card base and trimmed off the excess, using the inside card edge as my guide. this is a great tip for making sure you cut straight. I laid the Whisper White piece over the top and when I was satisfied with the placement, I used a pencil and made small tick marks where the corner and edges would fall. I then adhered it with Dimensionals and cut away the excess cardstock.

Beautiful card . Love the multiple use of stamps you always share.
Thank you, Gaeyl! I can always count on you for a constructive feedback. Thanks for coming by today. 😀
What a great idea! It will let me show off printed paper in the back and still leave plenty of room for stamping!
Thank you, Sharon! The best part about this overlapping corner is that it’s easy to create. This will be perfect to show off your designer papers or a stamped background. Thanks for stopping by today!
