Are you looking for a cost effective alternative to Halloween candy? How about a holiday gift idea for co-workers, teachers, babysitters and/or friends?
I’ve got a great idea for both those scenarios in today’s quick tip video. For about $1 you can create a custom pen that takes about 2 minutes to put together.
I used the Pentel RSVP pen which I found at Walmart. I’ve also seen them at various office supply stores and online. Check around for the best pricing.
But, don’t miss the grand finale of this video! I’ll show you what you can pair it with and be sure to come back next week for the sequel!
I’ve included pictures of my completed pen along with cutting dimensions in today’s blog post below.
Cutting Dimensions
- Designer Paper is cut 3/4″ x 4″ – this size may vary depending on the brand of pen that you choose

Hi Gaeyl! So glad you found this tip helpful. It’s a super easy project and coupled with the note pad I’ll share next week you’ll have a wonderful gift to use any time of year. Thanks for coming by today!
You’re very welcome, Carolyn. Thanks for coming by today to watch and for taking the time to leave me a comment.
Thank you for this idea and video showing how to do it. I saw the pens in Sunday’s paper – 5 for a dollar. I went right away today and picked some up. Back home and started making. Thanks!
What a deal, Wanda! 5 for $1 is fabulous. Typically these pens are a bit more than that. So glad you scooped them up. Happy creating!
