It’s been a WILD week here with Hurricane Irma. And, can I just tell you how amazingly BLESSED we are?! We lost power for only 22 hours and we sustained NO DAMAGE! Bob the Builder has been busy cleaning up the debris while I returned everything to it’s rightful place in our home.
The hurricane’s track veered east placing us in direct line of the eye. We made a decision to board up as many windows as we could. Finding plywood was impossible. Even sheet metal, fence sections – anything that would work, was non-existent. Oh, but that didn’t stop Bob the Builder! He got creative and he purchased fencing stakes.
We were only able to get 30 stakes but they proved enough. We worked for three hours to create three barriers for two of our largest windows and one for my stamp room.
We have a 30′ oak tree that stands outside the window of my stamp room (far left window) and worried it wouldn’t remain standing through the storm. But that might oak never waivered!
We have neighbors, friends and fellow Floridians that weren’t as fortunate. As a Stampin’ Up! family, we invite you to help us give to those who are now trying to rebuild their lives. From now until the end of October, Stampin’ Up! will match donations made to the American Red Cross, dollar-for-dollar, for up to $50,000. Please click here to donate.

Are you a cat lover? Even if you aren’t the new Holiday Catalog Cat Punch will steal your heart. I love the detail in this punch from the pointed ears straight down to the curly tail. And, did you know that this punch fits the printed images in the Spooky Night Designer Paper?
I used the 2″ Circle Punch to create a spot to house this black cat. I added a strand of rhinestones to her neck and created the whiskers using Silver Metallic Thread.
The Halloween greeting is from the Spooky Cat stamp set which is offered as a bundle with the Cat Punch. Bundles save you 10% and include both products.
With a simple change of designer paper and the greeting this card could easily be used for any occasion.
Mark your calendar for tomorrow, Thursday, September 14th, 8PM EST – 5PM PST – 6PM MST – 7PM CST. I’ll be LIVE on my Facebook page HERE with a live demonstration and interactive fun. This is a FREE event so plan to join me!

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, Kathy. We certainly felt them. Thanks, too, for the kind words about the card. 😀
Lisa, so happy you were also spared. Some people in Venice still without power but we were never without. No damage also Very fortunate. God Bless. Love the Cat card.
There are so many people, Deb, that weren’t as fortunate as we are. Our hearts, prayers and of course our help go out to them. It’s going to take a long time to recover from this hurricane season on both sides of the U.S. Thanks, too, for the kind words about today’s card.
I really worried about everyone in FL and prayed for the best. So glad you escaped the wrath of Irma. Will continue to pray for others there. Have a good day/week.

good to see the update Lisa, I was very concerned when we saw Irma make changes in direction. Glad to hear you have power and no damages.
Hi Janice! Thank you for your concern, thoughts and prayers for all of us affected. There’s still many who aren’t as fortunate as us. Please keep those prayers going for them!
Hi Lisa,
Love your creations! The cat card is so cute and this punch seems very versatile for many occasions.
I’m so glad to hear you are safe and survived from hurricane Irma. Sad to know of those that weren’t so fortunate during this time. What crazy weather and so much destruction this year with the fires and hurricanes. So sad to see so much devastation! Thoughts and prayers to everyone.
My Dad & his partner have been travelling in Florida the past few weeks, luckily they are safe also. They have been staying near Orlando @ Summer Bay Resort and only minor damage to that resort and all the people there are safe. They were booked to go on a cruise from Freeport but that had to be cancelled due to the hurricanes. All the best!
Hi Raewyn! I’m so glad that your Dad and his partner are safe. Truly, that’s the most important thing. My nephew and a friend of mine both sustained surmountable damage. It’s horrific to see so many people who are dealing with devastation. We are very blessed, that’s for sure! Now we try and help those that aren’t. Thank you for the kind comment about my card. Thanks for stopping by today!
