Christmas. Just that one word brings a plethora of images to mind, doesn’t it? It’s my favorite holiday and that’s obvious by the 9 Christmas trees fill our home each year. Yes, I said 9! We can dub me the “crazy Christmas Tree lady”!
Our biggest tree is 7′ and the others are in graduating smaller sizes. Decorating each one brings not only hours of enjoyment but brings a certain spirit to our home. There’s a tree in every room.
My traditional decorating day is the day after Thanksgiving. If Bob the Builder would agree, I’d start the week before. He’s in charge of the outside and I decorate the inside. It takes us three days. Three long, glorious days. And through every waking hour there’s always Christmas music playing.
Today’s card uses the Sheet Music background stamp. I stamped the image using VersaMark ink on a layer of Whisper White cardstock. I layered the ink with white embossing powder and heat set it. if you aren’t familiar with heat embossing I have a quick tip video HERE to show you how.
The ombre layers were added using the Sponge Brayer and the Marina Mist ink pad. The Sponge Brayer is easy to use, allowing you to simply roll the color on the paper. The darker areas were created by applying repeated coats of color.
I stamped the greeting and snowflake images using the Star of Light stamp set. The Everyday Label Punch fit the greeting perfectly!
The Island Indigo Ombre Ribbon matched so well that I chose to add some layered loops under the greeting. A single rhinestone adorns the center of my snowflake image to add a little shimmer. I’m so happy with this card that I’ve decided to make more for several people on my list this year.
